Description

Well, here is a bit of a story. My 294MM, which I thought had been shipped off to China for repair, is actually still sitting in the shop - he wants to send it off with a load of other stuff at the same time, to save on postage - which is understandable, but it does not help me much, and I have now been without the camera for 4 weeks - with no progress. Also, the shop has the fast Newtonian, and are meant to be professionally collimating it for me. Once done, I will sell this scope and take the financial loss. One of those astrophotography 'mistakes' that I can no longer live with, even if the scope gets sorted. I have had enough of that issue, now.  So, what I have done is gone and got myself the Sharpstar 61edph mark III, which is vastly improved to the previous models, and at last I can say, I am happy again. It took me a while to decide on this, but I think I have finally made a good decision! The sale of the other scope will offset the costs of the new one. The sky was a little iffy and the moon still a bit too bright, but even so... I think this little scope is amazing - and here is my first light with it, hoping to get the OIII tomorrow night - maybe. So, this was taken with the ASI1600MM, which the shop lent me. Good of them that! Hoping you are all well, and hoping you can see the potential of this scope and its lovely FOV... Missing my 294's chip, but that is ok!
